A youth-led political movement has come out strongly in support of President William Ruto’s 2027 re-election bid, urging fellow young Kenyans o shun political violence and embrace peaceful engagement.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the group known as Youths for Ruto 2027 (YR ’27) declared its “unequivocal” backing for President Ruto, citing his administration’s focus on youth empowerment, job creation, and digital innovation.

“We firmly reject any form of violence, anarchy, or destruction as a means of expressing discontent,” read the statement. “True empowerment comes through engagement, innovation, and partnership—not chaos.”

The group accused unnamed political elements of attempting to mislead and manipulate the youth, warning that such tactics threaten Kenya’s peace and stability.

YR ’27 praised the President’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, saying it had placed youth at the heart of national development. They also lauded Ruto’s government for opening opportunities in the digital economy and job creation.

The organization announced the official launch of Youths for Ruto 2027 will take place on June 25, 2025, in Nairobi. The event is expected to be headlined by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, alongside United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders and youth champions from across the country.

The group urged Kenyan youth to “reject manipulation, embrace peace, and join this great movement to secure Kenya’s future under President Ruto’s transformative leadership.”
